How can the advantages of Systems Engineering be integrated into aviation?



This question was answered at the X meets Aviation Event on September 27, 2019. After a lengthy break, the ZAL once again hosted this multi-faceted series of events! This time the “X” stood for “Systems Engineering” and was represented by Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Center.

Dr. Kai Below from Ferchau Engineering, Kai Wallasch from Claas KGaA and Lukas Bretz from Fraunhofer IEM each gave fascinating introductory lectures on the topic. These were followed up by a networking circle and a World Café, in which the participants had several chances to discuss eight selected questions.

The results of this intensive discussion speak for themselves: two pinboards and just under 60 heads were full of ideas by the end of the World Café. Afterwards, participants were able to use these results to form interest groups in order to maintain and encourage contact after the event. Coffee, cookies and Dassault Systémes’ product demonstrations rounded off the event.
