How can shipbuilding and aviation benefit from each other in terms of multimaterial?

For the second time this year, ZAL was the meeting point for an event of the popular X meets Aviation series on November 4th. Overcoming industry boundaries has always been the focus here. The focus this time was on lightweight construction and multimaterial in water and air. In three keynotes and an intensive World Café, the possibilities of use as well as hurdles to be overcome in shipbuilding and aviation were discussed intensively.

Frank Stellberger from Premium Aerotec GmbH, Karsten Fach from Marine Services GmbH and Dr. Pascal Vöpel from DLR gave three diversified lectures as an introduction. In addition to the technical input, the participants had ample opportunity to exchange ideas and make interesting contacts. The attendees were also invited to form interest groups and network beyond the event. This was achieved not only in a network session at the beginning of the World Café, but also afterward with coffee and cake.
