Due to the high complexity of aircraft systems, stringent certification requirements, and poor reception at 30,000 feet, cabin digitization has not advanced as much as passengers and airlines would like. There is a significant need for tools that facilitate the digital transformation of the cabin.

Modern tools for the cabin electronics of the future should possess the following characteristics:

Decentralized: A decentralized architecture is crucial so that the overall system can continue to operate even if a subsystem fails.
Sustainable: Cabin electronics must contribute to emission reduction. The new devices must be lightweight, energy-efficient, and cost-effective to manufacture.
Modular: Modular systems ensure that a defective component can be quickly replaced.
Reliable: Validated functionality and protection against cyber attacks are essential.

In recent years, the team at ZAL GmbH’s Intelligent Digital Cabin has developed a series of end-device interfaces. We refer to these devices as ZAL Endpoints to emphasize that these components are responsible for controlling end devices in the cabin.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row equal_height=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1702632126361{margin-top: 50px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”ZAL Endpoint Standard” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes” el_class=”push_nav_headline”][vc_column_text]The ZAL Endpoint Standard was the inaugural member of the Endpoint family. The development focus was on maximal flexibility: the Endpoint Standard can cover various use cases in the cabin. It can be employed to control lighting elements, speakers, microphones, or even a camera. Equipped with a versatile microcontroller, it can be adapted for specific purposes through plug-in boards. Additionally, the Endpoint Standard offers the possibility of swiftly developing software modules, thanks to its open operating system (Zephyr OS).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6707″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6716″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”ZAL Endpoint Performance” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes” el_class=”push_nav_headline”][vc_column_text]The ZAL Endpoint Performance is designed for more demanding applications. In contrast to the Endpoint Standard, this electronics is based on a System on a Module (SoM), which provides a central processing unit, memory, a graphics card, and a chip for AI applications. This allows the Endpoint Performance, for example, to locally recognize objects or people using a camera. Additionally, the module can be utilized for video applications.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”ZAL Endpoint Eco” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes” el_class=”push_nav_headline”][vc_column_text]The latest addition to the Endpoint family is the ZAL Endpoint Eco. Currently being developed as part of a LuFo project (DAKLIF) funded by the BMWK, it is intended to be lighter, more energy-efficient, and more cost-effective than its larger siblings.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6731″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]

If you are interested in further information or would like a demonstration, I look forward to receiving your inquiry.

[/vc_column_text][vc_basic_grid post_type=”person” max_items=”1″ element_width=”12″ gap=”0″ item=”1993″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1702634606380-1f717886-8ce8-0″ taxonomies=”248″ el_class=”mitarbeiter-staff-personen”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Cabin digitization has not advanced as much as passengers and airlines wish.
